Terms of Use

These terms cover the free tools and reference content on api-tester.com. By using the site you agree to them. They are written to be read.

What these terms cover

They apply to the API tester, the webhook inbox, the browser tools and the reference pages. The MCP Tools service under /mcp/ is a separate product with accounts and plans of its own, described on its own pages.

Using the tools

You may use the tools for any lawful purpose, including commercial work, without an account. You agree not to:

  • send requests to systems you do not own and are not authorised to test;
  • use the tester to attack, scan, overload or probe for vulnerabilities in someone else's service;
  • use it to get round another service's rate limits, access controls or blocks;
  • try to reach private networks, loopback addresses or cloud metadata endpoints through it;
  • use a webhook URL to collect data from people who have not agreed to it, or to receive unlawful content;
  • automate the site in a way that degrades it for other people.

A request sent through the tester is made from this site's server on your instruction. You are responsible for the requests you send and for having the right to send them.

Limits

The tools are rate-limited and cap the size and duration of a request; the current figures are listed on the about page. Limits can change, and access can be restricted or blocked without notice where use looks abusive or puts the service at risk.

Webhook URLs

A webhook URL created here is a public address: anyone who has it can send requests to it, and anyone who has the inbox link can read what arrived. Captured requests are temporary and are removed as described on the privacy page. Do not point production traffic or real personal data at one.

Reference content

The guides, examples and status code pages are provided for information. They are checked as described in the editorial policy, but specifications and providers change, and a page can be wrong or out of date. Test against the real service and its official documentation before relying on anything here in production. Code samples on the site may be copied and used in your own projects.

Other companies' names

Product and company names mentioned on the site belong to their owners. api-tester.com is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the API providers and tools it describes.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, free of charge and without any guarantee that it will be available, accurate or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, the operators of api-tester.com are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the site, including from requests you send with it or from reliance on its content.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated; the version on this page is the one in force. Questions go to support@api-tester.com or the contact page.
